1.What is a Star Cruises Genting Rewards Membership Card?

Star Cruises Genting Rewards Membership Card is issued to applicants who had successfully applied for Membership. Applicants, who had applied for Membership through our Reservation hotline or during their cruise will be issued their Physical Card on board. The Membership card is used to facilitate in tracking and recording of all transactions ie. through points earned from club gaming etc and points redeemed on board.

Practical usage:
- Present Membership card at our Food and Beverage counter to top up spending using accrued and sufficient Membership Points.
- Present Membership card at participating outlets onboard to avail services using your Membership Points.
- Always present your Membership Card to our crew on board when gaming to ensure that your gaming activity is recorded and points earned are credited.

2.What is the criteria for Star Cruises Genting Rewards Card upgrade and how often is this done?

Upgrade your Star Cruises Genting Rewards Card tier to enjoy more benefits and privileges. It is our way of rewarding patrons and frequent players with a higher level of premium services from Star Cruises.

We have scheduled periodical reviews of Membership gaming activity in order to validate active member's merits for the purpose of Card Upgrade. Criteria is based on the tabulation of points earned per year onboard Star Cruises vessels. Nevertheless, points earned are only part of the consideration for card upgrade as it is also subjected to Management's invitation.

3.What are the different types of Membership cards?

The Star Cruises Genting Rewards Membership, features 5 (five) different tiers with their corresponding benefits and entitlement. Members are awarded their respective Membership cards based on their gaming activity and averages.

Card Types:
Star Card (Green Card) - Entry level Membership card of the Star Cruises Genting Rewards Program.
2nd Tier - Classic
3rd Tier - Silver
4th Tier - Gold
5th Tier - Platinum

4.How do I earn Star Points and what is the usage of the points?

Star Cruises Genting Rewards Members are able to earn points through gaming. Simply present your membership card to our crew at all times when you patronize our clubs onboard. This is to ensure that your activity is rated and points are awarded. The Star Points (SP) earned can be used to redeem cabin and offset purchases at our selected outlets onboard.

5.I lost my card. What should I do?

Please call our Membership Enquiry Hotline to report your lost card to avoid unauthorized usage of your card and points. You may proceed to the membership counter onboard to get a replacement of card. It is subjected to either cash payment of SGD 10 / HKD 50 / MYR 20 or an equivalent of SVP deduction of 10 SVP (SGD) / 50 SVP (HKD) / 20 SVP (MYR) from your account for the replacement.

6.Does my Star Cruises Genting Rewards membership card have an expiration date?

The Star Cruises Genting Rewards card has 5 years validity from date of issuance. In the event that your Membership card has expired, you may approach our membership counter onboard for renewal. Expiry of membership card and points are not the same. You may continue to use the active Membership Points for cabin redemption and offsetting of incidental charges onboard, even if your Membership card has expired.

7.When will my Star Points expire?

With effect from 1 July 2013, all Star Points will expire within 2 years from date of earning. The usage of points is on a "first-in-first-out" basis. Example: Member earned 60 SP on 3 July 2013. This 60SP will expire on 2 July 2015 if they have not been utilized within the 2 years period.

8.Can I extend the expiry period of my points?

No extension is allowed for points. Points reflected under the Point Expiry Date at (1) via Membership Website or (2) via membership enquiry terminal onboard (MPET) (3) via membership kiosks onboard. You will need to deduct 1 year off the points expiry shown on Membership Website and utilize your Star Points before the stipulated time frame. After which, points will be automatically forfeited upon its expiry.

9.Can I redeem my points for cabin?

If you have accumulated sufficient points for the cruise, please call any of our Membership Reservation Hotline and place your booking. Provide your membership ID, vessel, cabin type, date of departure and particulars of your passengers who will be cruising along with you.

10.How do I check my Point Balance?

There are few options for members to check their points balance (1) via Membership Website or (2) via membership enquiry terminal onboard (MPET) (3) via membership kiosks onboard. Members with existing online Membership account can log on the membership website and select Account Statement Menu to view their transaction details and point balance. Points expiry date reflected on the e-Statement, membership website, MPET & membership kiosks will have to deduct 1 year off from date of expiry as system is still undergoing enhancement.

11.I do not have sufficient points to book for cabin. Can I borrow/transfer points from another member's account? Or can I top up with cash?

Points are non transferable and no partial payment or partial redemption is allowed for cabin booking. If you have insufficient points for cabin redemption, you may purchase the cruise package from Star Cruises with normal fare. For enquiries on reservations, please call the Membership Hotline

12.Can I transfer the points of my deceased relative (Partner/Parents/1st Degree Relative) to my active Membership account?

Points are non transferable. Thus, transfer of points (balances) of the deceased Member to the immediate families or 3rd parties is not allowed.

13.Can I use my Star Cruises Genting Rewards Card in any affiliate Resort World properties?

No. With regret, Star Cruises Genting Rewards card will not be accepted for points transactions at the selected affiliated properties from 5 March 2013. For further information on facilities in our Resorts World properties, kindly visit the following websites.
